Canterbury is a city in Kent, southeast England, famous for its 11th-century cathedral and as the setting for Geoffrey Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales. The climate is temperate, with summer highs around 70°F (21°C) ideal for walking the medieval streets and punting on the River Stour, while winter lows near 40°F (4°C) are fine for touring the Canterbury Roman Museum and the atmospheric ruins of St Augustine's Abbey. Spring and autumn offer comfortable temperatures for exploring the city's historic walls and the nearby Kentish countryside.
